Studio pilot testing is available

Studio is an ontology-driven electronic Learning Environment, major aim to explore the missing kowledge areas in a given subject. It can be tried a demo version is based on the adaptive testing methology specialised in envriontmental knowledge area. The adaptive testing means answers of questions build each other like a chain depend on the correct or incorrect answers in a given logic instruction. If the answer is correct for a general question of a given knowledge area than give more particular one the next time. When the test is finished it can be possible to read more about the deficient area on the special wiki pages.

At first it is worth downloading the users' guide of Studio, which includes toolbar use cases and many figures to faciltate understanding the visualization results.

    Dear Engin,

Please try it again, as I know the problem was solved afternoon.

    Have a nice day.
    Anita

The tool is very good, but there are some bottleneck's. For example, I had problems with the visibility of pictures in the test. (I only saw the first picture and further nothing)

I used several browsers to solve this problem but it didn't work.

Thanks Ana, we are working on the changes. The user's guide is uploaded on the website it can be found nearby the Studio pilot entrance.

The tool is really good, intuitive to use, fast.
I can suggest improvements in the results part. First I would like to agree with Kosta, I didn't saw the back to the list of previous tests at all until I read his comment :)so it would be good if it is more 'visible'

Second thing is the representation of the results - one summary graph would be very helpful to have better overall picture, something like excel chart bar where you can see the % and the difference in % for different areas.

This test was a real pleasent surprise for me. Taking the test is fun and in the end really helpful, especially the Results part, where you can see in which areas you need an improvement.

I also really like the idea of a test, adopting to examinee's knowledge. We were never given the chance to take tests like this one during our formal education :)From this point of view i can say, too bad for us and the whole educational system.

It is a good feedback, thanks Kosta.

The results page can be a little bit confusing(at least for me). It opens the last test that I have seen the results of. If I want to see the results of the other tests I need to click 'Back to the list of filled tests' button. I didn't see that button and I thought my second test was lost. Maybe this can be changed so that the list of the tests can be visible when I go to the results page.

It's really good to see a program using adaptive testing. It works very well, try it and learn about environment protection!
  • Anita Pinter · 2010-05-26 15:46

ohh, yes I see. The Adaptive Test Engine walks through the ontology structure, starts on the top of the structrue (with the main knowledge areas in this case the main ones are the Engergy and the Environment Protection). The algorithm is very simple. If the answer is correct, U get more questions in the given areas until an incorrect answer. Ur competence is cover the given knowlege area, U get more questions than who are not perfection in this theme. One of the pilot aim to help for the users to complement their deficiencies in the given theme/subject/area; in our example is the Evironment Protection. All in all at the beginnig we do not know how many questions will be asked during a test it is depend on the indivial competence.

It would be better, when i am testing i know that how many question would be left.
  • Anita Pinter · 2010-05-26 13:37

Noemi, what do U understand under the numbers of the questions?
  • Gergely Toth · 2010-05-25 12:39

I tried out the test in Google Chrome. I randomly checked the answers, the test finished without any problem. I was able to look my result and the related knowledge too.

I also tried to suspend and continue the test. I found no problem here either.

I will try out in IE too.

  • Szabari Noemi · 2010-05-24 18:46

I could start the test by only Mozilla. Structure of the test is very logical and transparent. Excellent solutions, that i can continue the suspended tests and can look back the results. If i had looked numbers of the queistions, maybe it would have been better.
